As many of you know, I am a firm believer in functional training and I have found my match made in heaven! My absolute must have this summer is the TRX- Suspension training that will sculpt and tone your body like no machine!!
At LIFE, I have been training people one on one and have gotten nothing but positive feedback. I have been training myself on it for about a year and LOVE the results. I finally took the training course last month and I am pumped to share with you all the knowledge that I have learned!
So, if you haven't already, check it out and let me know what you think. It may look easy, but Total Body Resistance Exercise will challenge you like nothing else. The best part- it is sooo easy to travel with and set up in your home. You just anchor it on any door or hang it from a tree!!
I'm going to post some TRX workouts up on my website soon so check back to see MY favorite moves!

NYLA Photoshoot

Last week I shot with Michael Anthony for a NYLA shoe ad that will be up at the biggest shoe event in Las Vegas. Had a great time- it was a hot shoot- literally. Up in Eagle Rock, it must have been at least 15 degrees hotter then the coast. Phew! Hope you like the photo above, they really liked the pics in this little itty number.
After seeing the proofs of this shoot, I feel like I know what poses suit me best and which ones I should completely avoid! I had some really bad shots in the set! This was my first photoshoot in about 8 months. Luckily, all you need is ONE good shot out of the whole shoot... the money shot!!
I have a few more photoshoots coming up in the next few weeks. One will be for promotional photos for a webseries I'll be acting in and producing a bit. Another one.. yoga set. The other shoot will be with a male model. Getting my sexy on. Ha! Once I get all these photos, my photo section on my website will be updated with a lot more pictures- check back soon :)
Good day, all!

...
who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky--filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should
get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people
than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where
always
it's
Spring)and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves

Gravity
This is my favorite dance piece of the SYTYCD season. Performed by Kayla and Kupono, choreographed by Mia Michaels. We all have some sort of addiction in life... this piece represents how powerful and intense it can be... the lines, the technique, the emotion. It makes me realize how much I love movement in general... the stories you create, the feeling you project...without saying a word.

For Sh*ts and Giggles!
For your entertainment ... a blast of the past.
I moved to LA back in 2007 and one of my first projects was a runway show/tv pilot for a fashion designer, ShaDang. Giggle number one, I am not a runway model... I am 5'3 mind you... giggle number two, the whole idea.
Even though it's a bit silly, this was one of THE HARDEST training I have ever been through in my entire life!!! I don't know how the other models survived quite honestly. In a nutshell, there were 20 models who spent 5 days, 4 nights up in Pacific Palisades at a ranch, training 10 hours a day in Martial Arts, taught by real Chinese Monks. Not a joke. I felt like I was back at Bela Karolyi's Texas Ranch. The training was pretty hard core... the show was incredibly fun. Here was the TV Pilot.. I'm in there probably a whole 3 seconds... try and find me :) good luck.

Sorry for my absence...
...I was surrounded by hot dogs at Costco. Phew, glad I got that one off my chest. Sometimes a girl just wants to eat whatever the heck she feels like eating... just one of those days :)
In all honesty, after a few months of exploring the other side of the world, I am back home and ready to pick up where I left off...same focus, same desire with a whole lot of energy and a new set of goals!
I have to say, one thing that I learned overseas, was to stay grounded. We live in a country full of opportunity and hope and dreams- which I completely embrace, but sometimes I feel so wrapped up in that, I forget what truly makes me happy... I had to question, is it really my accomplishments that define me? Although fulfilling my goals are a huge part of my life, it is not my main source of happiness! My family, my friends... the people who I love ... they make me who I am, they keep me going. So before I blog on about my career goals, I have to send out a big cyber bundle of LOVE to all the people in my life... you know who you are :)
With all that said and done, let's get down to business!
As I re-read my original goals in previous posts, I clearly had the mindset to compete. How quickly things have changed. As much as I love the stage, the spotlight, the performance, the competition- it's going to be on the backburner until the end of the year. To be bigger, to be more defined, to have better skills, to have an awesome routine... to win more titles...yes I'd love that, but right now my focus has a bit more depth to it.
I recently started working at Camp again. I love my job. I absolutely love it. It is a blessing to witness such a positive change in people's lives. The other day I was in the gym teaching yoga and an old camper walked in the door. I nearly fainted. This woman lost so much weight and I barely recognized her. She looked amazing and happy and full of life. She ran up and hugged me and she couldn't stop saying "thank you- it was all you, baby". I love her! I will never forget any single camper that I get to work with. Their dedication inspires me more than they will ever know!
I am happy to report I have also had the opportunity to work more outside of work, if you will. As many of you know, last year I attended a Fitness Model International Conference and it was a huge networking experience for me. I met so many people in the fitness industry that led to booking commercials, magazine spreads, sponsors, photoshoots, contributing articles and tv hosting! I am ever so grateful for that experience and it gave me a real foundation of where I wanted to take my fitness career beyond competing and training.
With that said, the media section on my website has been updated. I have been hosting fitness and lifestyle shows for LA Muscle TV which is actually airs on Europes SKY TV Cable. It is also available to watch online at www.lamuscle.tv
