lil miss fit or lil misfit ;)

So you clicked on my blog... here you go, an insight to who I really am.

"lil"- abbreviation for little. Small in size.

"miss"- Used in informal titles for a young woman to indicate the epitomizing of an attribute or activity.

"fit"- physically and mentally sound or healthy.

"misfit"- trouble maker :)

My real name, Amber Nimedez... My title, Ms. Fitness Hawaiian Islands... My nickname "lil miss fit"... or is it... "lil misfit".

I've always been a small girl... a tiny thing...a gymnast... little, yet powerful... a firecracker with an attitude. Growing up as a competitive gymnast, you learn dedication, discipline and what it really means to stay focused. These are the three things that I like to instill in others. I admire people who lead a healthy active lifestyle and believe there is no other way to live!

I have the blessing of having a job I absolutely love. As a trainer in a company where people come to us for a complete lifestyle change, you can imagine how enlightening it can be. I'm only a lil misfit there because I will cause trouble if you slack off in my class, personal session or bootcamp. I was coached by some of the top gymnastics coaches, including Bela Karolyi. Strict, scary, loud and sometimes in your face...it comes from the heart with good intention :) Just because I appear to be small, my workouts are no other than big and intense. Work hard or go home.

I also travel to Seattle once a month for my second job as an Exercise Therapist for The Egoscue Method. A softer, yet gentler side of me... I help people straighten up, literally. Having proper form and function is vital when working out. Having correct posture will prevent pain and injury.

An athlete at heart, I love fitness. I am proud to say I practice what I preach. I love competing in Ms. Fitness competitions and I enjoy fitness modeling. It is my career goal this year to be recognized as a familiar face in the industry as a fitness model, competitor and trainer. In this blog, I will give you an insight to my life as a fitness enthusiast. My own struggles, emotions and achievements that I personally go through...

As I watch my own clients journey, it is them who I think of when I am in training. They motivate me like no other has before... I dedicate this year to all those who are willing to make a healthy change in their lives. To take a chance, to turn life around and live it to it's fullest, no matter how hard the journey is... Do not give up on yourself, I certainly won't.
